Country Chic

Hello Blogging World! I'm sorry that I've waited so long to finally start blogging! I've been busy interning in Dallas all summer and classes started, and I've got some personal things going on, but have no fear I've decided to really try to take this seriously! So without further ado i give you my first official blog!

One of the most important things for a wedding is to come up with a theme. The theme can be anything you want, Nautical, Vintage, Tropical, pretty much anything you want, you can make a theme. Lately I've been obsessed with all things Country Chic.  My friend Chelsea introduced me to Pinterest and "wow" what a great site to gather ideas. I've compiled a miniature idea board that could be used for a person interested in a Country Chic Themed Wedding! It all started with the dress, which I'm absolutely IN LOVE WITH. The soft ruffles are super feminine, but at the same time modern, and the simplicity in my opinion begs for soft subtle accent colors with touches of country pretties.
The bouquet to the left of the dress (left as in when you look at the screen its to the left) is made up of very natural looking flowers that you would find if you took a stroll in a meadow. The colors are simple, yet beautifully compliment each other. With so many color choices in the flowers, bridesmaid dress colors can be anything form yellow, green, or my favorite a very light coral pink! To the other side of the dress are burlap table numbers. These are easy do it yourself projects that you can loop over something like a mason jar to add that country flair.

Below the bridal bouquet is a potential centerpiece. I love the wooden box's simplicity (but i would put flowers in the bridal bouquet into the box instead of the ones shown). Below that is a simple beautiful wedding cake. I'm a huge fan of not going over the top with wedding cakes. Yes they are an important part of any wedding and stand as a centerpiece at the reception, but let's face it, after a little bit it gets cut into a bunch of pieces and we eat it.... so keeping it simple and beautiful prevents you from feeling guilty about cutting a masterpiece up.  This cake has simple colored ribbon (i would suggest using the color of the bridesmaid dresses) and then gumpaste daisies. You could use any flower you want, such as any that are in the bouquet, just make sure they match in color and go with the theme (ie: you wouldn't want hibiscus flowers at a country chic wedding).

On the other side under the table numbers we have a cute idea for table cards. Miniature pinwheels with the guest's name and table number on a tag are fun and playful and definitely not something you see every day. Plus, pinwheels are actually pretty easy to make, so if you're on a budget, you can totally make these by yourself! Under the pinwheels is one of my favorite finds lately.  I was just browsing through etsy and stubbled upon this ring bearer pillow. Again another easy DIY project, its just two pieces of burlap in the shape of a heart sown together and then attached with a fabric flower (in the color of the bridesmaids dresses....are you feeling a trend here?). The pillow is unique and it really just helps to keep pulling everything together to make sure that the wedding is as Country Chic as you can get!

Last but not least, every wedding has an abundance of pictures taken. Professional photographers are getting super creative these days and this photograph is a perfect example of how given some guidance and creative freedom, photographers can do anything! The picture caption says "Pinch Me I Must Be Dreaming". One word.... Adorable!
I hope you enjoyed the blog! I'll do my best to update once a week. I'm working on a tropical board next so hopefully that will be up for your entertainment soon enough! Thanks everyone!

xoxo!
Katie
