Save the Dates

Is a Saturday wedding better then a Friday wedding even though a Friday wedding will probably be cheaper? Should you have the wedding over a long weekend so that more people are likely to be able to join in on the festivities, or are you trying to cut down that invite list by making it a weekend where maybe some of those long lost relatives that live across the country might not be able to make it? Regardless of when you choose your date and why you pick that date (maybe you just had to have the specific venue and the date was already somewhat chosen for you based on availability)  sending out Save the Dates is a crucial step in any wedding planning process.  The Save the Dates can be an opportunity for you to get creative and introduce family and friends to the theme of your wedding.  Let's look at some cute Save the Dates that I love!

I've seen this one several times in magazines but I have yet to know anyone who has actually done this idea! The design is simple, but fun. Make the font the color you've chosen to be your theme color and add a colored pencil so that your guests can "pencil in" your special day! With an already sharpened pencil they'll have no excuse not to run to their date book and jot you down.
Save the dates are also an opportunity to show off some of those awesome engagement photos you probably dished out a lot of money for. Here is two examples of some fun and cute ideas!
This next Save the Date kind of could go along with my country chic theme that I talked about in my last blog. A mini calender with clothespins holding it up and your wedding date already saved for them makes for a cute and unique reminder to your friends and family.
No matter which route you decide to go with your wedding, destination, small gather, over the top gala, your Save the Dates are the first thing that guests see and they can help to set the tone of the wedding.  Don't be afraid to be creative and unique. After all, the wedding is all about you and your significant other's special day so why shouldn't your Save the Dates be just as uniquely special as your relationship?

Thanks for reading!
